The University Deputy Registrar/ Public Relations Officer, Harris Osaze Osarenren, confirmed this incident.
In a statement, Osarenren lamented that “UNIBEN has lost a student.”
According to the statement, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital mortuary.
Osarenren also disclosed that the case had been reported to the Ugbowo Police State while investigation had commenced.
He said,“The incident which took place at the Ugbowo Campus of the University has been reported at the Ugbowo Police Station, while the body has been deposited at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City.
“Investigation is on-going by the Nigeria Police Force to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death.”
